    Women's Ministry The WTC Women's Ministry focuses on providing opportunities for the spiritual development and social integration of the women of Word Tabernacle Church. Opportunities include conferences, retreats, fellowships, and bible and book studies. Single Women's Book Club Mondays at 6pm - Room 443 The Single Women's Book Club meets to provide a space for encouragement, empowerment, and equipping for single women 18 and older. Mother Encouraging Mothers Grief Support Group 4th Thursdays at 6:00pm - Room 450 The Mothers Encouraging Mothers (MEM) Grief Support Group welcomes mothers who are experiencing the loss of an adult child.   • Summer Camp Counselor | Word Tabernacle

    Lead Counselor/Specials Instructor Job purpose They develop and instruct lesson plans and activities to the Campers based on the weekly theme. The overall nature of this position is to teach the curriculum to 3 separate age groups that they will understand and apply based on their individual age groups. Duties and responsibilities The Summer Camp Lead Counselor is responsible for the safety of all students under their care during program hours. They supervise camp counselors and volunteers by directing the camp during all activities and emergency situations as well as before and after camp procedures. To support and develop staff and students, creating policies overseeing daily operations, developing the curriculum, and ensuring the school meets any standards set by law. Develop long-term relationships among the Campers and Staff to help the growth of the program. Manage all aspects of the camper’s daily activities. Develop a strong rapport with Director by responding to requests in a timely manner Communicate effectively with Staff and parents' families in order to promote understanding and support of the program. Offer emotional support, greet new campers, and implement camp rules. They supervise campers during meals, large group activities, and restroom breaks as well as monitor the hallways. Develop long-term relationships among the Campers and Staff to help the growth of the program. Manage all aspects of the camper’s daily activities. Develop a strong rapport with Lead Teachers/Specials Instructors by responding to requests in a timely manner Communicate effectively with Staff and parents' families in order to promote understanding and support of the program. Qualifications Must be 21 years old. Possess a strong background in early childhood or education including curriculum, standards, assessment. Policies, and procedures Must have Certified CPR and First Aid training or be willing to attend training. Pass drug and background screening provided by the local police department or State of North Carolina Child Development Possess a strong work ethic Be punctual and have minimum absences Be available for the functioning hours of the program Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children Have dependable transportation Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally the employee will lift up to 50 lbs. such as to lift files, paper, school supplies, books, etc. Will be required to engage in physical activity with the children, set up and break down rooms being used for preschool purposes.     MLK Oratorical Competition Saturday, January 11, 2025 | 9:00 AM Students in grades 6-12 who live in the city limits of Rocky Mount or attend Nash County Public Schools can participate in the MLK Oratorical Competition during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration in January. Imperial Centre 270 Gay Street, Rocky Mount NC, 27804. Click Here for 2025 MLK Oratorical Competition Information & Application **The City of Rocky Mount hosts this competition. This website is specifically for the WTC youth ministry. The general information is applicable to any student who is eligible to participate in the competition. Some information has been added and adjusted specifically for our ministry programming to partner with the city. Support and workshops are offered once we know someone is taking part in the oratorical competition. Applications are due December 29th but it is recommended to let the next generation ministry know you are participating before then in order to obtain a coach and other support. PURPOSE: The purpose of the contest is to allow students the opportunity to express themselves verbally using Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s philosophy. THEME: Grades 6-8 – “We Are Stronger Together” Grades 9-12 – “Does One’s Silence Create Change?” ELIGIBILITY: Students must attend a Nash County school or live in the city limits of Rocky Mount and/or attend a school in the city of Rocky Mount. DATES TO REMEMBER: Deadline for Entry Forms: Turned in to The Youth ministry leadership by December 29, 2024 Workshops are offered based on who we know is participating.
